Materia Prima aims to transform the narrative of the forest, to highlight some ambiguous aspects of the relationship between people and consumerism and examine the social dynamics of our era. The labels, inspired by the world of fashion, differentiate the selected trees by making them unique in comparison to the rest of the forest. At the same time, however, they standardise and flatten their identity, unifying it thoright a list of features common to each plant.

Transplant is the brand created especially for the artwork and it symbolises, with a hint of irony, the operation of decontextualisation carried out by the Borlottee collective.
