BLACK HUG

IRENE RUSSO – 2017

The work of Irene Russo was born with the intent of raising awareness about arson, with particular attention to those who have seen what happened at his homeland, Campania. The wooden structure has been superficially charred to recall the black color of the fires, creating a structure that winds its way around 3 trees and wraps around them like a symbolic embrace between man and nature. The succession of woods becomes a sort of guideline, decreasing, which leads the user to follow this short journey in which the black carbonization is combined with its smell and the claustrophobic feeling of the embrace, which during the journey is loosened, inviting the user to reconcile with nature.
