LIKE WOOD MOBILES

MARCO GOBBI, CRISTIANO MENCHINI, ADRIANO VALERI – 2013

“Like wood mobiles” is a residential structure for two individuals suspended between two trees, an intimate and meditative refuge, persistent but subject to atmospheric motility, and inspired by the kinetic art of Alexander Calder. The principles of movement and balance introduced into the art of the American sculptor with the mobiles, are re-proposed in the intervention of the artistic formation How we dwell (make your own residence) that transfers them into the landscape attributing them not only an aesthetic but also a residential function.

The project unfolds around the idea of artistic residence, of the artist’s permanence in a place aimed at the creation of a work. The three artists, who live inside it during the creation of the work, make this moment the heart of the intervention in which the process of living and working in the different phases of the creation of the work becomes an integral part of it.
