MYCELIUM

MICHAEL CHAUVEL – 2025

“Mycelium” is an installation inspired by the underground network of mycelium—an invisible yet vital system that connects trees and organisms beneath the soil. Like mycelium, the artwork creates connections: between natural elements, between art and landscape, between the visible and the invisible.

The sculpture, suspended among the trees, is made up of white threads that never touch, evoking a floating organism. It represents the interdependence of life, the silent movement of nature, and the balance between lightness and tension.

Designed for Ledro Land Art, the installation integrates seamlessly into the natural setting, respecting the landscape and inviting the public into an immersive experience. Walking beneath the structure, visitors enter an abstract and organic environment where light, shadow, and space merge in a poetic dialogue.

“Mycelium” is a site-specific work that, like the fungal network from which it draws inspiration, adapts to its surroundings and becomes part of the ecosystem—making visible what usually remains hidden: the silent power of connection.
