Rovine

GIORDANO FAUSTINI – 2014

The wooden elements placed in sequence are the remains that make up an enormous face that emerged from the ground. Wedged between inside and outside, and suspended between present and past, they seem like ancient ruins that the earth lets resurface and that nature wants to reclaim. While grasses grow and small animals hide in its cracks, the large face awaits the sun’s rays and the drops of rain.

And while the eyes observe the movements of the clouds in the sky and the ears listen to the pulsating of the earth, whispered words come out of its mouth, narrations of ancient stories of timid giants, old warriors and now forgotten deities who once inhabited the pine forest.
